A healthy, money-smart and sustainable lifestyle begins at home. Making money while saving the planet is a serious win-win scenario. When it comes to protecting the ecosystems on which we all depend, there are things you can do yourself and there are things that are best done by certain groups and organizations.

In your home

1 If you have central air conditioning, do not close vents in unused rooms.
2 Turn down or shut off your water heater when you will be away for extended periods.
3 Turn off unneeded lights even when leaving a room for a short time.
4 Check and fix any water leaks.
5 Unplug seldom used appliances.
6 Wash clothes with warm or cold water instead of hot.
7 Turn off lights, computers and other appliances when not in use.
8 Only use electric appliances when you need them.
9 Use compact fluorescent light bulbs (or LED) to save money and energy.
10 Plant trees to shade your home.
11 Shade outside air conditioning units by trees or other means.
12 Replace old toilets with new ones that use a lot less water.

In your office

3 Use mailer sheets for interoffice mail instead of an envelope.
4 Set up a bulletin board for memos instead of sending a copy to each employee.
5 Use e-mail instead of paper correspondence.
6 Use recycled paper.

How To Save Money Every Month

Saving money is one of those tasks that's so much easier said than done.If you want to effectively save money every month you need to set a goal and have obtainable ways to do so. Setting goals really helps motivate us toward reaching a goal and everyone has something they could save for. How much money will you save, where will you put it, and how can you make sure it stays there? Here's how to set realistic goals, keep your spending in check, and get the most for your money.

  • Develop a realistic budget. Don't just estimate what your costs are. Take a month to write down every cent you spend from your house payment to your morning cup of coffee. Once you have set up a realistic budget to live on, then you can begin to set up a realistic goal to save money each month.

  • Wait before you buy. In order to break the habit of wasting money on impulse purchases, impose a waiting period on yourself. Wait for a month, and if you still really want that item, then buy it if you have the money.

  • Put a limit on how much you will spend each month on things such as entertainment or morning stops at the coffee shop. Use cash and divide money that you have allocated for Starbucks or entertainment into envelopes. Once your envelope is empty there are no more dinners out or morning lattes. This allows you to continue to have access to the things you enjoy but stops you from overindulging by setting limits.

  • Have money automatically deducted from your paychecks. It's an easy way to save money each month. If you don't see it, you don't miss it.

  • Look into making lifestyle changes that will help you save money each month. Take public transportation, quit smoking or buy some necessary items at thrift stores or consignment shops to save a little money each month.

Always increase your savings at a pace faster than your income increment. This would enable greater and faster wealth accumulation that contributes to your future.

Kepentingan Penulisan Wasiat
